I know more about the older Rangers than the newer ones... don't call me an expert, that's not good enough :P LOL JK. But if anyone with Gen1-2 Rangers got questions, please feel free to contact me. I'm gonna do a tech article on the stang dash when I install it and when I get my ext cab windows that open I'll do a write up on that as well. Anything we need a how to on that I cna help with? and I'm NOT doing one on changin sparkplugs on a 4.0 SOHC either so don't ask :D

it's just that so many of us know so much about rangers... we need newbies to ask the old questions we all asked at one time...

I had a '92 and I have an '02 and I have worked on more recent ones. The problem is I can only say so much due to a confidentiality agreement. 8)

OK - look at this analytically
Take the top 20 posters, then eliminate the administrator.
Review their posts and see how many were technical posts.
You will come to the realization this is a social forum.

Don’t worry, be happy - it’s still a good place.

it may be a social forum, but ask a question on gen-edge that can't be answered here...

ask a question on rps that can't be answered here...

ask a question on offroadrangers that can't be answered here...

and we are only one month old...

we'll get more knowledgeable members as we go...

social forum? ok cool... it's a badass forum in my opinion...

good people over here > sh**heads with some knowledge

hate to bust your bubble Christian, but there are MANY questions that RPS can answer that RF CAN'T. and it's not that people don't know, it's that most of the people over here have Gen5's while most on RPS have Gen1-4.

Why don't you ask a few people to do mods you know they haven't done and maybe get them a RF.com shirt for doing so? I mean if you want people to do this, gotta make it good ;-)

Same w/ TRS. This is why I liked GE, and now this site. People are talking about late model trucks, which I have..

Man this site is new, its a social forum, right now, and why? Cause we are all friends...

Is this a problem to some of you, id rather be asking questions to people i know wont bullshit me...

Ive met great people on this site..

Christian, is like a brother to me, dont mess wit him, cause you will feel my wrath...

Coy"Cr1028" another one...

Bryan"bjv11" - very cool kid....young but has a good head on his shoulders..

Gary"gbgary" - im like the adopted kid that gets all the stuff he doesnt want anymore..lol This guy is cool as hell...

I have met alot of great people, me driving the 2.5 Hrs to go see a friend in Houston is no problem to me...

Social forum, oh well...

I aska question here, it gets answered

I ask a question on another forum, *I* get questioned as to why i am doing what im doing..

I mean really....
*Who gives a damn, im doing it BITCH! IM RICK JAMES*

I just wanna say thanks to the poeple who have helped me..

I think we have influenced people,

I get people im'ing me , as to my opinion on thier next mod, or what i think it would look like and what not..

dude, you are copying my typing style...

i am the only one who types a line, then does "..."...

you are such a freaking poser...

and umm...

we are getting gen-1 guys over here, and i honestly think if someone doesn't know exactly the answer, it will be found out soon enough...

this site is as good a resource as any and can only get better.

social forum? hell yeah it is. and that is not a negative thing. everyone would complain if gen-edge was all technical, or rps, or orr, or any of them.

if we talk less trucks and more regular stuff here, so what. i like everything about this site and in my opinion it is better than the others, cux you guys are the people i want to talk to online. not the sucky people that do nothing but bash other people's ideas and opinions...

That is common among many enthusiast's forums. It turns members into lurkers. Let's strive not to be common.

i just wanna see questions(seriously, not just to test us) posted here, that someone cannot answer very well..

i think we have a very educated group of guys here...

sure, maybe we don't have the "numbers", but take a look at gen-edge's memberlist. over half has either:

a) never posted

or

b) not posted in the last month

rps, orr, trs, all of them are like that.

i will never bash orr or rps, as i think they are wonderful sites. trs, i think has tech stuff that blows most out of the water.

our plan is to delete inactive members after one month. if you are a new member with 0 posts, you will be deleted after having been on the site for one month. we won't be deleting members who have posted and are inactive, only members with 0 posts after being on the site a month. we are here for quality not quantity.

31" BFG All Terrains and Explorer Springs For Sale...

well if you all are looking for more TECH stuff, how about have the mods look more into the posts that are going on?

I've noticed MANY I mean MANY posts where a sticky shoulda been created or information should ahve been taken to make a sticky. We can find this info on the internet, why don't you try delgating some work if people wanna help, have them look for certain things? Just an idea to help this place "catch up" to all the rest

Well, one quick and easy way would be for those of us who wrote how-tos for G-E to go ahead and re-submit our content here, as I've done with my air-silencer-removal how-to. Sure we're going to have duplication of content, but most of us came up with our best mods during the G-E era.

and remember... tons of new members will come who don't know all the things we do...

all the stuff that is old to us is new to them...

ie: foglight mod, blinker mod, etc...

I am not very good at remembering to take picures when I do a mod to my truck but when I start modding again I will make sure to starttaking pics and doing how to-'s even if they have already been done. Might as well be able to tell a little bit differently how something can be done or just give a little different perspective on it. I will start trying to be a little bit better to the ranger world.
