OBDII port not working.

OBDII port not working.
I've figured out the problem is a blown fuse on slot #29 which is for the cigar lighter/OBDII port on my 04 but I have no clue what is causing the blown fuse. It continues to blow them, I haven't messed with any of the wires concerning those things so I don't know what it is. I think its the cigar lighter on the left side of the bezel, my one on the right side works fine. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Try pulling the leads off both cig lighters and putting a new fuse in. Then if it doesn't blow, plug in the one you know is working correctly (right one)... wait and see if it blows, then plug in the left one, if it blows, you know it's the left cig lighter and go out and get a new one. don't even try fixing it.. junk yard might be like $0.50.
Try that first and see what that does man

Your left cig lighter is on the same circuit as the OBD II plug. The right is on its on fused circuit. Check the diagnostic plug for corrosion or touching wires. The fact that the cig lighter has been unplugged since you got the truck seems to lead me to believe that is the problem. There could also be a wire that rubbed through and is shorting to ground. The fact that the fuse blows right a way usually would be short to ground. A meter is your best friend in diagnosing these things. Check voltages and resistance.I hope that helps.

Unfortunately, there are only two possibilities here.
1- The accessory plug is messed up. Unplugging it from behind the dash trim would isolate that.
2- There is a problem elsewhere in the wiring which would probably be impossible to find.
Best thing to do would be find out which pin on the OBD-II port is the power and run a new wire.

HAHA...TRENT, im having the same exact problem, except you bastards didnt comment on my post....anyways im gonna try this to (disconnecting both cig lighters and putting in new fuses)...The guy at autozone couldnt get a connection with his OBD2 reader...so, i might also need to find out the lead power wire on my port and make a new one, if the other stuff dont work..
My fuse is #17 slot, cig lighter and DLC
