What is this?

This little connector came up through the floor under the driver's seat in front of the rear speakers. I had thought it was the connector for the rear speakers since they weren't working, until I removed the seats and found the bundle of wires that run to the back that this branches off of. There's nothing else around that I can find that it would hook up to, so what is it?

This is a 1990 Ranger XLT.

Seat belt would sound about right, as it comes out right next to it. Only thing is, my seat belt connector doesn't have any wires going to it, and doesn't look like it ever did.

the drivers seat belt latch should have wires. they turn the chime and the light off on the dash.

Maybe pre-wired for power seats and you just don't have them?
