the plug i am pointing to......

this is some type of plug that is just capped off and hooked to my power distribution box under the hood.......it was like that from the factory.....the wires ( 1 RED & 1 GREEN wire) go back into the main wiring harness.....

anyone know what it is for?

 

I think its one of the diagnostic plugs...

 

Could be a fog light harness if you have factory ones or block heater.

 

It looks to me like a plug end that doesn't go to anything, like it was put there for something optional and since your truck doesn't have it they decided to put a blank on the other end. What ever it's hooked up to doesn't look like a sensor, at least not one that would do much good where it is.

 

Red/pink and light green/black = test connector for the rear axle ABS sensor.

 

open it up...disconnect it...that might tell you
