Which wires can I tap behind the gauge cluster?
So I had MANY burned out bulbs in my cluster and last night I swapped them all out for LEDS. Everything turned out really well. Love the look of it but it looks like one of the traces on the back of the cluster is broken because it's not illuminating the center twist cap led bulb. Verified by taking a multimeter to it and it read nothing. Which wires on the gauge cluster harnesses can I tap for a 12v switched power when I turn the headlight switch on. I was planning on soldering two small wires to the back of the led bulb so that way the center of the cluster lights up. I just wanted to make sure that the wires I am tapping are 12v and only active when the headlight switch is turned on and I guess so they can dim with the other cluster bulbs.

Then how do the leds that I have in the cluster go down in light when I turn the jog dial down? They don't shut completely off like the stock bulbs but they go from a nice bright light to a much dimmer light as the job dial is rotated down...

I thought about doing this BUT i didn't want to put stress on that socket... IE: If it's meant to only run one bulb and now it's suppling power to two...etc?
but again I have no facts on that.. .if I can do that it would be a lot easer.. just solder two small wires to the plus and minus of the backing... any downfall to this?
IE: Would it draw more current or anything like that.. would it be like wiring leds in series or parallel? I know of of the two draws more current.

the six illumination bulbs are all tied together into one set of wires. i could probably find out which ones, as i have a spare harness I used for testing mine. so soldering two wires to another spot isn't going to overload the system, as they should all be connected anyways.
Yea it's weird, only that one bulb doesn't light.. all others are a beautiful white needle/green lettering,numbering.. compared to the old incadecent bulbs that made everythign look yellow this looks great.

there is nothing going to the traces at all on that particular part of the cluster... I toook a functional led from the gas side and moved it to the center and it did not light up. Took that same led and moved it back to the gas side and it light up. I know about polarity...lol
