2010 Ford Ranger XLT Super Cab 4 cylinder.

I was working on installing an aftermarket backup cam this afternoon. I put on the parking brake and shifted to reverse to check the wires in the reverse light so I could wire up the camera. When I checked the wires, the multimeter indicated no power, and the light was not illuminated. When I got back in the cab, I noticed the parking brake light, ABS light, and traction control light were all on in the dashboard. Then, while driving, I realized that the turn signals were not functioning - the lever worked, but there was no indication that the signals were operating. Hazard lights are still functioning. Cruise control is also not working. Any thoughts?

Fuse/relay layouts start on page 190 or so

Cab fuse box fuse #20 looks like it may be blown as it list these devices:
ABS module, Speed control
module, Back-up lamps, Overdrive
cancel switch, Electronic flasher
(turn)

But why it blew is what you need to find out
Generally speaking when you are working on electrical system you should unhook the Negative battery cable in engine bay
Once you have unplugged any connectors you can hook it back up to test voltages, then unhook it again before doing anything else

If fuse 20 is blown and you put in a new fuse and it blows as well then you have shorted a wire for one of the devices listed

 

Thanks for the reply! I replaced fuse #20, and that seemed to fix things.

In answer to the 'why' question, that's the really interesting thing: I hadn't done anything yet besides remove the tail light assembly and reverse bulb, and engage the parking brake. I hadn't started wiring or fitting the camera, I was just trying to look for the hot wire in the socket to hook up the reverse power switch properly.
