what are these switches going to?

I am trying to figure out what two switches might have been going to (I am the second owner of this ranger) before i bought it.

I am looking for some info, before i start taking things apart trying to trace them (if wiring is even still there).

I have a pic, but I AM NOT ALLOWED TO POST A PIC (good thing I get a rifle with my line of work....hmmmpfh!!)

The two switces are located on a console under my ash tray infront of the gear shift located directly on the floor.

It takes up alot of room, and I would like to get rid of it, unless it is something I can hook up to in the future.

Thanks

Johnny

to post attachments, you have to be a contribuitor ( https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...ead.php?t=2791 )

you can upload them to www.photobucket.com and then post the IMG tag into a thread...

Slightly larger version here:

Yes those are definitely custom. As to what they are wired to, one would need to trace the wires and see where they go. Or just flip them and see what they do.

Probably went to add-on lights or something. Could do anything since they are not factory. Good luck.

this is the underside, showing the actual connections.

It covers the restraint box, but i hate it.

I am going to look at a different console to take it's place.

anyone have a pic of some different ones for some ideas?

Were there even any wires attached to them?

The one on the Right was used for the Flux Capacitor & the one on the Left was for the Drive Reactor cooling system....j/k

They look like aftermarket rocker switches w/LEDs. Probably used for Aux lighting that used to be on the truck at one time. Other than there in a hard to reach spot while driving I would keep the switches....Might be able to use them for something down the road plus they are covering the holes that were drilled in the plastic to mount them.

yeah I am thinking lights as well.

I am sure I can think of something down the road to wire to them.

For now I will just have to travel at MACH 0.2, No WARP drive for this guy.

And NO when I took the thing out, no wires were to be found.

see if there's any holes drilled in your front bumper. It'd show that someone tried to mount lights at one point
