HELP PLEASE READ. ranger wont start

ok here is the problem..... i go out to take off to my new job (1st day) and the truck wont start or even crank over... i try jumping it... thats not the prob,,, it is clicking like possibly the starter is seized.... but then sometimes the whole truck is not getting power cuz the door dinger and dash lights sometimes wont come on.... i hear a clicking and popping noise from the relays in the fuse box under the hood.. and the battery is getting hot really hot on the + side.... what do you guys think??

i was gunna clean the terminals, and replace the relays.. and go from there... possibly replace the starter?????

battery..

the starter clicking is most likely the cause of the battery not having enough charge or being shot all together. so have that checked out

i feel dumb...... ok i had this sudden urge to go out there and clen the termanalls on the battery and the power wire and presto.... it got a clean connection for the power to always turn on the interior and dash lights and crank the starter.. the little bit of corrosion that was ther i guess was creating eough resistance so the for 12v could not reach the truck....

thanks for the input guys

I had a big problem with my old battery back in high school and just took some baking soda water and a wire brush to it and viola! Always keep it clean or you'll find yourself in this kinda situation.

heat = resistance = crappy connection. Shoulda tipped cha off when the battery was that hot.

Touch a light bulb while it's on. Thats resistance. lol
