Where to buy Motorcraft FULL Synthetic 5w30??

I've searched online everywhere and even went on the motorcraft website. Anybody know where I can get the FULL synthetic? I;ve decided to go with full synthetic over the blend but want to stick with motorcraft because the manual recommends it

Lol, love the user name man. "The greatest samurai in the empire". Check at any Ford service garage....they have barrels of the ish!

Neat! Never knew that

Wirelessly posted (Timberwolf)

I was reading that it was made specifically for the 'Stang GT500 and The infamous GT supercar. Then eventually they made it available for the masses. Pricey stuff. Its no different from all the rest of the full syth.

so should I even bother with it? and just put the synthetic blend ?

djfllmn Feb 28, 2011 04:07 AM

just use the blend...if you ask me synthetic oil isnt worth the extra cost...but thats prolly because i change my oil every 3k regardless of what i use

Timberwolf Feb 28, 2011 05:53 AM

At the end of the day, it really does not matter which type you use(Motorcraft). Personally IMO, full syth. oil I would leave for the high output engines(V8). Like the ones found on the Ford lots that none of us could afford, unless we flipped our homes and left our wives lol. I just dont think our engines were made for that stuff. I think the Syth blends would be the best bang for your buck. My 2 cents. Call up a couple of Ford techs and get their opinions if your still undecided.

BTW, Is there really any Pro Ford tech's on this Forum?

My dealership here doesn't carry any of the Motorcraft full-synthetic nor do they carry any Motorcraft oil that is not 5W20. No 5W30, 10W30, nothing...only 5W20.

I buy my Motorcraft oil at O'Reilly Auto Parts in my area...they have a full assortment of Motorcraft oil and filters in several grades, including the full synthetic you are looking for, in both 5W30 and 5W20.

In case this was unclear, YES, my local auto parts store has a better selection of Motorcraft oil than my local Ford dealer.

not going to say where but when I worked for a dealership (toyota/lexus), all they used was aftermarket red coolant and recycled oils.

My local Ford dealership only has generic 5W20 in bulk...if anyone comes in for an oil change (in any car), it gets that 5W20, regardless of what oil is specified, 5W30, 10W30, 10W40, etc. They literally only have one tank of 5W20 for their overhead dispensers...any other grade of oil, you have to either bring in or pick from their slim selection of Motorcraft oils.

For the record, my owner's manual says the 4.0 uses 30-weight oil only...same as the Mustang with the 4.0. I'm okay with fudging on the winter rating, but not on the weight of the oil. 30 weight is 30 weight...40 is 40...20 is 20...i keep those in check.

Pepboys, advanced auto, autozone all have it
