Sport Trac cluster help
I installed a 01 Sport Trac(white faced) cluster in my "96 Ranger,temp guage goes to high after warm up,check gauge lite comes on,plug old cluster in and it works normal(which is out of a 99 Explorer) ,check temp and its running 194*,got new temp/fuel gauge and still same problem.......is there more than "plug and play" on these clusters????...help please,going friggin' nuts trying to figure this out.............Thanks

i had the same problem when i swapped a sport trac cluster into my 95. if you look on the back of the temp gauge on your 96 cluster you will see a single resistor on there, the sport trac ones don't have one so you need to swap the temp gauges from the clusters. mine works normal now after i swapped them out
