Why won't this light work in my tail light?

25-LED 3156/3157 LED Bulb Specifications

They used to be in my reverse lights and worked great, but when I put them in my tail light plug, nothing happens

 

Use a volt meter and see if there is any difference in power output. With LEDs a couple volts difference could be super bright to barely visible.

 

Nothing would happen at all. Not even a flicker

 

did you flip the bulb over?

 

Yup, nothing changed

 

Test for continuity between the + and - contacts in the bulb, maybe there is a short internally.

There could just be a problem from the manufacture? Have you tried it on another source like a power supply or directly to a battery.

 

Works in my reverse lights just fine

 

Then test at the plugs your trying to use them in, maybe the pin arrangement is different for some reason then the bulb is supposed to work at, as long as you have the contacts touching something you can always rewire it to work correctly if you have to.

 

That's a good idea. The contacts are slightly different. I'll let you guys know how it goes

 

uh... Cause a reverse light is a single filament bulb and the tail light is dual filament. You know? Reverse is only a bright, while tail is a bright and dim?

 

Well damn. I didn't think of that.

Guess I should just get Jp7's LED's then
