No there are not. Easiest way is with a USA spec adapter. Plugs straight into the headunit harness and gives you either 2 RCA connections or a straight ipod cord.

And why is that?

If he still has stock speakers he won't notice a difference.

I was thinking he was talking about a transmitter. Directly connecting to the radio would sound lot better

Are you kidding me!?!?!?! I wet from my factory headunit to a cheaper kenwood and the difference was huge!!! It's well worth it to just go aftermarket. He money your going to spend on an adapter will be much more worth it with a quality deck, and you can find good headunits real cheap

Lol whatever man. I've used 5+ aftermarket stereos in the difference is not worth having to look at that cheap ugly stereo all the time. Yes you can find headunits cheap but they will also look exactly that...cheap.

Coming from my Pioneer F90BT (which I doubt you even know what that is) to my stock premium stereo was not noticeable at all. Double din or nothing

Ya... My kenwood isn't exactly a cheap walmart special. And I don't have the "premium" stereo in my truck like most others on this forum. In my truck and my buddys Mazda something as simple as a decent headunit was a major improvement

Putting in an aftermarket head unit with factory speakers does nothing for you. In fact, if you listen to AM/FM radio, most aftermarket headunits cannot pick up the signal strength as well as stock. Hooking up a more powerful radio to crappy stock speakers is just going to blow your speakers faster. Most stock speakers, unless premium sound, are about 13w RMS, aftermarket headunits typically push out about 22w RMS, tell me... is that smart? Will it work? Yes. Will it last? No. I used to work at Best Buy in the car audio department, selling this crap all day and doing installs. If you used the Spec adapter, it will sound as good as your stock speakers will allow. An aftermarket headunit will sounds good IF you also get aftermarket speakers.. and even then... won't sound GREAT until you put a 4 channel amp on those speakers. If you think otherwise.. you suck. Thank you for your time.

So im assuming you have done lots of stereos in rangers? I have put decent stereos in three now and they have all sounded better with just a deck. If you areone of those retards who crank it till your ears bleed or speakers crackle till they blow the. It's your own damn fault. At no point did I say it was the best thing he could do, I beleive it is the best thing the op can do is get a decent deck that allows options

Just seemed like you were implying it was the best option. Which, clearly, the best option lies in what the OP wants to do with his truck. If he wants to keep his stock look, he needs to get the spec adapter. If he would like the aftermarket radio, then he certainly has more options for future upgrades, but in order to get optimal sound, will spend more money more quickly. Depends if he wants a quick fix or a good quality system.

If he wants a quality aftermarket deck that looks stock they are pretty easy to find. There are some real nice options out there. Just search cause there have been some good threads here with factory looking decks

Not really...the only one I've seen is a Pioneer double din that looks almost identical to the Tremor radio. That one doesn't have ipod capabilities like the spec kit does though.
