If you have 4 wheel abs you will see wires going to the sensors up front.

How bad was it? My right caliper is bad, I'm pulling to the left whne braking, so I'm thinking of either rebuilding or replacing it.

I assume it's just clamp the brake line, unscrew the caliper, put new one on and bolt up, bleed the line?

Don't clamp the line.
Just have the replacement caliper close by and transfer the line from one caliper to the other.

its really easy it took me about half an hour start to finish and you can rebuild the caliper for 10 bucks or buy a remanufactured one for 50 i just bought a remanufactured on and if you lift the brake hose up high you wont lose any fluid

Why not? Thats what I do when I do rear brakes, you clamp the soft line with a brake line clamp tool. It doesn't damage it.

I can also just lift it upt hough, it will only take a second to change.

I'm not sure why no one has mentioned this unless you already know. You shouldn't replace just one caliper, the same as replacing one set of brakes, one wiper blade, one o2 sensor . . . there is a likely chance your brakes will be uneven or hard to control with one new caliper, I'm not sure if it would be worse with ABS.

I don't know how to plug and bleed lines on a 4WABS Ranger, for my RWABS, I just held the open end of the brake line fitting as high was possible to avoid fluid draining out and air rising, a simple bleed was all that was nessesary. I can't help with anything besides the "don't replace just one" advice, good luck man.

Well, I know not to replace just 1 thing...but the left caliper is perfect. So I would assume fixing the right one would make it brake equally. If not, I can change the left...but "if it's not broke...why fix it?"

Well, I don't know about you, but for me, most aftermarket or re manufactured parts tend to fail WAY easier and faster than OEM. I"ll take my chances with OEM.

just a little tip when changing a brake caliper or replacing a line, use a piece of wood or a long extension to just slight depress the brake pedal( put it between the pedal and the forward edge of your seat). This will shut off the flow of brake fluid to the line or caliper.
We use this trick at work daily to avoid the never ending drip of brake fluid when servicing a line or cliper/wheel cylinder, works great!

Just depress the pedal far enough to set your brakes lights, then do the change and bleed.(If your going to awhile doing the job I might sugest pulling the brake light fuse. We've had to boost a few after the younger techs spend all day doing brake lines)
