Wiring into high beam headlight wire
 

Now that I no longer have my 9007 headlights since I have a low beam projector set up now, Im going to use the smaller projectors for high beams. Currently, it has its own seperate circuit (relay, switch, hot wires off the battery) so it doesn't draw power directly off the headlight wiring, causing the wires to get hot. It gets its switched power from the park light wire, so they will turn on and off with the rest of the lights at the factory headlight switch. What im wanting to do is take that switched wire and hook it into the high beam headlight wire, so it switches the smaller projectors on and off when you switch the high beam switch on and off in the cab. Will that work?

well, I tried wiring it that way and found out that it still only burns either low or high, not both....is there a way to get around this so the highs will burn with the lows when switch to high beam?

You may have to develope some sort of relay system to turn on the low beam wire when the high beams are on.

i'm in a similar situation, anyone ever did something similar.

i have halo/projector headlights, with hid's in the projector running off a relay harness.
the hid switches off when the highs are turned on. is there something i can do to keep the low's on when the highbeam is activated?

i'd like to avoid adding another relay system.

i cant remember exactly what wires i used, but if you look at the wiring diagram for the light switch you should be able to figure out what wires to jumper.

i really wish i could remember and be more help, but not being near my books i cant tell you guys exactly.

but i do know there is a wire that does have power when the low beams are on and when the hi beams are on too but not with just the parking lights...so all i did was jumper that wire to the low beam wire and thats it.

ive had it this way for about 1.5 yrs with no issues at all.

Since the mutifunction switch (turnstalk) basically switches current between the high beam circuit and the low beam one (ignoring the both circuits on method by pulling and holding the stalk back in the flash-to-pass mode), you'll have to add another relayed circuit triggered from the high beam circuit to fire up the low beam circuit. No other way around it. I'm not sure what will happen if you use the flash-to-pass with current flowing to the low beams from two sources, but I'm thinking it should be ok.

Just relay your head lights.
