Jusnes e-fan wiring help

Well i finally got the stock fan off and the sucker mounted. I thought the wiring wouldn't be too much trouble, but I'm stumped.

First of all the kit comes with a mini add-a-circuit and a heavy duty ATC blade type fuseholder. The instructions don't mention anything about these two doo-dads. And there are a few wires that I'm not sure where to locate in my engine bay.

In the instructions, I've gotten past the first two steps.

1. Wire red wire to postive terminal on battery, use ring from parts kit. - DONE

2. Black wire from controller box to ground - DONE

3. Yellow wire to constant +12V connection

4. Green wire to A/C clutch wire.

5. Orange fused wire to fan power wire, ground remaining fan motor wire.

So my question are these...

Where do I add the mini add-a-circuit and a heavy duty ATC blade type fuseholder?

Where can I find a constant 12V wire in my engine bay?

Where can I find the A/C clutch wire?

and should I add a male connector to the end of my fan power wire to hookup to the female connector on the orange fused power wire coming from the controller box?

thanks in advanced. I really need to get this done ASAP. Pics would be awesome if you can provide them.

Yellow wire goes to where there is power with the key on. in my truck fuse 14(i think) in the cab has voltage with power on.

the A/c clutch wire is the solid purple wire which can be found behind the HVAC controls in the cab, all you have to do is splice/tap into the purple wire.

only place i have a fuse is inbetween the controller and fan on the orange wire. that is all that is Needed.

you could add a fuse the wire going to the battery (red wire) but im unsure about how many amps that really draws.

hope that helps. i guess i didnt understand what you meant in the PM, sorry

Let me ask, is this a generic setup where you have to butcher wires and run crap out of your fusebox? Because that's going to change my mind on wanting one. I don't really want an abortion in the event of a failure.

No it is not. It is a very clean setup.

I would give wiring help, but mine are different.

there are no "Plug and Play" fans out there regardless of manufacturer.

I know, I just don't want anything ghetto. I fix cars for a living so I don't think I have a problem installing it or anything I just don't want to have a mess on my hands in the event of a problem.

the add a circuit fuse holder can be used for the yellow wire in the fuse panel inside the truck, we reccommend the radio circuit. We give you the add a circuit so you dont have to cut or splice any wires in the cab.

We usually run the green wire with a tap connector to the gray/white wire from the AC clutch.

If your controller does not have an inline fuse on the Red power wire, then add the extra one on that line.

The blue wire from the controller will not be used and can be cut off short and taped over so it does not short on anything. It is to control a second fan in our dual fan setups.

The orange wire goes to the red wire on the fan. You can cut the connectors off the fan and add your own new ones if you like.

The fan and the controller must both be grounded as well.

Thanks for the additional info on those extra pieces.

You said the A/C clutch wire is the gray/white, Zach mentioned it was the purple wire.

?

in the cab it may be purple from the controls, but you can splice it under the hood on the gray/white wire from the AC clutch

I read elsewhere this may kill the fan early in its lifespan.

I tapped the purple wire at the engine conector on the left side of my engine. (ohv)

10 is plenty on the add-a-circuit, it just powers on the controller itself, 30 in the red power wire

its a switched power for the a/c system not just the compressor.( it goes to the pcm from the hvac)

when ever the ac system is used the fan is one 100% of the time regardless of compressor operation.

i could see where that would help, but really it should only need to be on when the compressor is running to cool the heated freon. although having it on all the time would help reduce some wear and tear on the motor brushes.

i could see it ok either way

Bob,

Can the add-a-circuit be used for an override switch? I'll need to have an override switch for the highway.

the add a circuit is really only designed to ride off an existing fuse, so you dont have to splice any wires. do you want to override the fan off on the highway? if so it would just be a matter of putting a switch inline with the wire.
