Black cluster/01 tails, remote start, etc.. In Illinois
Hey guys. A few odds and ends for sale here..
Next up for grabs is a silver HVAC. I also have (not pictured) some black knobs with green indicators to put on it, that I'll throw in. I bought it and it wouldn't fit my truck. The back is different than my 01 model. I did a little grinding on the back with a dremel but it just wouldn't work, so I gave up. IT DOES NOT AFFECT ITS FUNCTION. Everything still plugs in just fine and stays locked in place firmly.. http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2...f/S5030099.jpg http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2...f/S5030101.jpg Here you can see the dremel work. Nothing bad.. http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2...f/S5030100.jpg Let's say $16 shipped for the HVAC. Here's a black cluster from my 2001 4x4 automatic. It's in very good shape. There may be a couple minor scuffs on the lense, but nothing that can't be buffed out. I don't think they even show in the pictures.. I had to clean it and look just right to see them.. Tach, 4x4, automatic, you guys know the details. I know that some of the bulbs are burnt out so BE AWARE of that. Also, the cable is cut for the gear selector but it can be popped off and yours popped on. I did that when I fit the white one in my truck. Easy! LOW ORIGINAL MILEAGE! http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2...f/S5030102.jpg http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2...f/S5030105.jpg Lastly, I have a Bulldog remote start system that's new in box. It's been opened to read the manual, and I used the electrical current tester once, but it's all there. NEVER USED. It even includes the bypass for vehicles built after 96, which should work on our PATS trucks if you have a spare key to put in the bypass.. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH TO BE SURE. http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2...f/S5030107.jpg http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2...f/S5030109.jpg Let's say $36 shipped on the remote start.. Feel free to make offers but I'm pretty firm on my prices. They seem reasonable to me. I accept Paypal payments IF MADE AS A GIFT! I'LL TRADE ANY OR ALL OF THIS STUFF TOWARDS A MTX THUNDERFORM BOX FOR A 01 SINGLE CAB OR ANY PARTIAL TRADES PLUS CASH TOWARDS A DOUBLE DIN STEREO. So feel free to offer up ANY interesting trades.. GB :D |
Are you sure the HVAC is plug and play? I bought one just like that last year and none of the plugs matched up
|
There's a picture of the back, so you'll have to look at the back of yours to be sure.. It wasn't a plug-n-play on my truck.. That's why it's for sale.

I'd like first shot at the wiring harness... if it'll work on my truck.
|
You've got first dibs. I'm searching right now to find out more information for the older Ranger owners..
EDIT: NO LUCK finding out anything on the harness or swapping tail lights using it.. Sorry.. GB :) |

whered you buy it from originally? and you too justin, whered you buy yours? |
It wouldn't work in my 2001 Ranger but I have heard from other members that silver clusters do exist that would work in my truck. This would/should work in some Rangers but I'm just not sure on the years. So I encourage anyone that's interested to remove their HVAC and have a quick look before assuming it'll work..
I bought it from a fellow member quite a while back. I do believe that it's a Exploder HVAC. GB :) |
Tail lights SOLD SOLD SOLD!!!
The tails and tail light harness were shipped out today via the USPS. GB :D |
Final price reduction before they either go into long term storage, or the garbage.
Cluster - $55.00 shipped. HVAC - $15.00 shipped. Remote start - $35.00 shipped GB :D |

Just FYI for any one interested in the HVAC you can disassemble both of them and install the silver faces on to the stock ranger controls. the don't fit quite the same way but it is doable and has worked great for me for the past 6 months.

What is that HVAC control out of?
|
Thanks for the information man! I was thinking of doing that but was unsure on how to remove the overlay without ruining it. What method did you use, for the benefit of others here???
I wish they made a white HVAC to match my white cluster!

They do make white overlays
Ive seen em on rangers before. i found one for a mustang but it looks the same as a ranger not sure if it works or not White overlay |
I'm just not sure on the best way to remove the original overlay and the silver one without ruining it. I was thinking a really long razor possibly. The type that you can snap pieces off of as you use it. I think it'd slide under the overlay completely.
SOMEBODY BUY THIS SILVER ONE AND TRY IT!!! GB :) |
the way I did it there is no need for a razor blade, you simply un clip the stock overlay and plastic and then the expo overlay and plastic backing presses inside the soct controls, then the knobs hold everything together, you can glue it if you like but mine I just have pressed in and the knobs hold it in place fine
Hope that helps ya, no closer pics as of now but I may be tearing into the dash again soon and I can take a few. |
Silver HVAC WITH (green indicator) KNOBS, black cluster, and remote start still available!!!
GB :) |
pm'd you...
