My steering wheel looks like crap and right now I just have a leather cover for it. I want to swap it out and if I have to go through all that trouble, I figure I might as well go with a nicer wheel than the factory 97. I like the 04+ wheels and to my understanding they have the same splines, and as far as the airbag is concerned you only have to swap the connector on the end of the wire to make it work. No cruise on either wheel so as far as i can tell it should be a simple swap. Anybody have info on this? Perhaps a link to some specs? I've searched all the forums and couldn't find a straight answer. Also, can my existing airbag be used in an 04 wheel? I should think not, but it cant hurt to ask. If not, what is a nicer wheel that would swap in nicely? (i.e. no modding)

Fantastic. 97 black leather wrapped it is. I'm operating on the assumption that "no" is the answer to all questions mentioned above.
