2006 4.0 - Fuse for : AUXILIARY POWER POINT (12VDC)
The 12V power jack on the front bezel wasn't working on my "new to me" 2006 ranger 2 door supercab 4x4 with 4.0L
So I searched this forum to find out how to 'remove the bezel' to see if the plug was loose - Thanks Forum for showing that it is 2 easy screws and some careful prying to remove. Snapped the plug in nice and tight on the socket and then checked the backs of wires with the meter - no voltage. (with truck off and truck on didn't matter) So it has to be the fuse.. brought me back to the forum where the search for the fuse name began. I looked at the paper manual - no "aux" or 12VDC fuse. Noticed someone had link in forum to ford site to download any 'updated' manuals. Downloaded the online owners manual per links found right in this forum : https://www.ford.com/support/vehicle...owner-manuals/ So I looked at the online owners manual and see they officially call the feature the "AUXILIARY POWER POINT (12VDC)" So for For 4.0 engines - Scanned through the Fuse list for 'AUX' - no luck - searched for it in the online format... again no luck. (probably too wordy for the fuse guide) So I figured after searching these forums and getting a lot of great info, I would share something I learned for the next person trying to find that fuse - but isn't quite sure what to search for... Aux 12V 12VDC plug Powerport Aux power My Feature to Ford Fuse Translation Guide: "AUXILIARY POWER POINT (12VDC)" --> "Power point" Aha in the Fuse guide it is listed as "Power point" 20A fuse #34 - replaced that 20A fuse and viola - power. |
Great Info.....Thanks for posting.
