How do you remove the rear supercab door panels?

These things have me stumped... I'm trying to get the panels off the rear doors on my supercab and they won't budge. I don't want to break the little tabs so I'm not forcing it.

It looks like the door slides sideways to come off... is this right? Are there any screws I'm missing? Any trick to this?

HELP!

its a ford so its a stupid design but you just have to pull and keep pulling. its held in by pins that will probably be pulled out and have to be reinstalled. some will break but Ford told me theyre 50$ for a package of 10 so i said screw that and just tried to reuse them.

I have the ford part # for the tabs at home and some tabs I picked up from Pep Boys that I think will work as replacements. The ford tabs are $$$$$. I believe there are a total of 11 or 12 tabs to be pulled. I pulled my passenger side panel last year when I had a continuous rattle coming from within the door. Turned out to be a spare tab that was loose. Unfortunately the panel now rattles due to the tabs being now "worn" from pulling them out. If you can live with a rattle just reuse the factory tabs. For me it's annoying and one of these days I'll get around to replacing them.

Ok, so those are both ways to do it... now who knows the right way... lol

Mine have been removed before to install speakers and there is no rattle so they must have known the correct way to do it...

Thanks though!

hah yeah ford irritates me... if i took my rear panel off more i would run sheet metal screws threw the panel along that rubber seal on the outside edge so its hidden, but too much work for the limited amount of time id need to get back there

yep just pull them like you found out

if you break the tabs just melt them back together with a soldering iron, that is what i did and it holds tight.

there is a tool idk what the actual name is i call it a daisey puller or christmas tree puller, it is like a pry bar with a forked end to get under the push its and pop them out, pulling the panel could possibly break the panel after all it is a ford and they are pretty cheap.

If you break the plastic clips you can get some replacements from a local auto parts store. They are in the isle with all the HELP products. I think I paid like $8 for 6 or something like that.

Also, like left04 said, some of the clips may get messed up from pulling the panel. Just inspect the clips and make sure they are stiff, and the ribs aren't broken or wore out.
