60 degree AC

Hey Ron, are you still around? What do you know about the air-conditioning I’ll bet it’s everything. Well my (97 XLT LONG CAB 3.0 ) works fine all the controls work, pressures seem to be about normal (30 psi & 175 psi at 75° ambient temp 250 psi on a hot day) Only problem is she will only pull down to 58° - 60° air. And it seems to be short cycling. It is difficult to say because compressor run time is variable based on outside temperature. It is not low on gas, However, even on a hot day the compressor just doesn’t seem to stay on long enough to make it go below 60° Am I wrong? I think it is supposed to pull down to at least 50° is it not? The wife’s Honda blows 45°air. The compressor appears to be 23 years old I was wondering would a new compressor solve the problem or is it something deeper? 60° air will keep you cool but it just isn’t right.
come on guys any of you who have experience with these Ranger AC systems jump in there and show me what I should be looking at.
All ideas will be appreciated thanks In advance, Larry. ( Harmony162)

BY-the-way. Is there any way to adjust the compressor on & off temperature?
