94 Ranger XLT electric window motor "Maple Tree Repair"
My Window Motors (both sides same problem) got so when I tried to roll the window up all it would do is like a small bounce? motor sounded fine but would not go up, It would roll down fine, this is what I found on mine and is working Good I hope this might help someone out.
The first picture you can see the Very small C clip, This is right on top of the Gear that turns the regulator, Next picture is the inside of the Nylon Gear I do not know what ford had in there some type of over ride? Not sure but Mine had a lot of busted nylon pieces, What I used was three pieces of 1/4" Fuel line, I put the open end of the Hose toward the Metal Gear,This made for a stiffer fit between the nylon gear and the metal regulator Gear, I just ground a little flat spot on top of the hose to allow the metal gear to go down enough to put the C-clip back in place, I tried it with the open end of the hose pointing up, It fit fine but just felt a little softer The brushes was worn out on the Drivers side I replaced those from another motor I had. anyway I hope someone may Find this Helpful. As with some "Maple Tree" repairs your guess is as good as mine as to How long this will last.
Thank-you again for all the work that goes into this wonderful website.
