New gauge mount project.....

Started this last night.....making a mount for 3 gauges above my radio in the spot were the center air vents are.....going to go with 3.....4 will fit, but i ordered a F-150 steering column pod and a new dual a-pillar pod....going to take the 3 pillar pod off and go back to too as soon as i get a new driver a-pillar.....

using 2" PVC pipe to hold the gauges in.....JB Welding the PVC to the bezel then i am going to use fiber-bondo to mold around it and then a layer of bondo to smooth it out good.....had to notch a little bit out of the top of the bezel to get the PVC to fit in the hole but it wasn't bad...used a Dremel tool to do that....shapped the notch around the PVC pipe so it held it in while i put the JB Weld around it.....

well enough with the small talk, here is the pictures...

check back often for progress pictures....i am going to hopefully have this done by the weekend....

thanks.....i didn't get a chance to work on it last night, but hopefully i can get the 3rd piece of PVC in and maybe start laying down some metal mesh mat around the PVC to hold the fiber-bondo.....

i dont really use the upper vents except for when the a/c is on.....the extra air will just be forced to the outter 2 vents.....and my gf is usually the one who is cold in the winter and summer, so the a/c dont usually get used alot.....and the extra hot air blowing on her stops the complaining about being cold

Looks like it's coming along, but wouldn't fiberglass have been a little easier?
