Auto Dim Mirror

Hey guys...how hard is it to hook up one of these? I know where I can get one pretty cheap. I don't care about the Auto-lamp part, I wast the dimming part.

The autodimming part is very easy. If it is a stock Explorer mirror, just 3 or 4 wires. The autolamps feature adds two relays and a few more wires.

i would like to find an auto dim with headlight option on it.......that is on my "do ASAP" to-do list....

Well I would like the Auto lamp, but I really don't need it. As far as the Auto Dim....where do I have to run the wires from?

i think if you have an OHC, you can just tap into the power and ground wires there....i believe that it is just a power and a ground...

Using the color codes at the mirror connector:

red/yellow to yellow black at the radio harness
light green/yellow to the green/orange at the dome light
black to another ground wire or directly to chassis ground
black/pink to the black/pink reverse light wire

wow...that's alot of wiring. I think my stocker is just fine....ANYONE NEED A AUTO DIM MIRROR?????

It's very easy to do. You don't even need to hook up the reverse wire if you don't want to..... That leaves just 3 wire connections. How much easier could it be?
