I'm Hopefully about to install Edge bumper soon...the next mod will prob be getting a center console and begin doing some molding and fiberglassing and all that fun stuff...i looked around..WHAT is the difference in the consoles...like the 1st gen and the 2nd...cuz I'm not sure what year i want to get

 

go with a 95-01 xploader console

 

and do they all look the same basically? Because I'm just gonna buy the console now, do all the fiberglassing and work to buy those leather explorer seats :-)

 

a 95-01 will fit just fine in your truck. there's a couple different ones.. a full length, which extends up and under your dash where the passengerside airbag thing is located.. then there's a short length console.. which extends just past the seats and allows you to leave the existing smaller floor console where it is.

at first i wanted the full length one, but ended up getting a short one. now im glad i have the short one becuase i can still stick my cd book somewhere. it fits nicely wedged in between the center console and existing floor console.

so it depends on which one you want.. both will fit.
