bed lining interior

hey guys, been a while. anyways I'm finally coming back to my Ranger in about two weeks when I finish the semester. I have been thinking of bed lining my interior since the vinyl flooring that I have is warped and scuffed up. I know there is some fuzzy sound protection underneath the vinyl. I'm debating on whether i should bed line the interior to make it more durable and easy to clean after fishing and hunting trips. a buddy bed lined the interior to his '95 YJ and it looked great. the only thing I'm worried about is getting a lot of road noise on the freeway without any sound protection. Has anyone had experience with this or think this is a good/terrible idea?

Just replace the floor with carpet or find a better vinyl floor to replace it with. Painting or lining something flexible like your floor will result in money wasted. As the floor flexes as you get in and out, the bedliner will crack and flake off. A durable coating is really only as durable as the material it's sprayed onto.

Not only that, but imho, bedliner only belongs on the exterior of the vehicle, preferably in the bed or undercarriage.

As for road noise, consider this. Bedliner was truly designed for one thing, and that's lining beds with a durable coating. Sound reflection or sound absorption wasn't considered in it's production. Something like that I would imagine would be very reflective, like a room with empty walls or a garage floor.

If you really want to get rid of road noise, carpet is going to be your best bet. The best all-around solution though would be to use some type of sound matting on the floor, walls, and roof, then to lay down a new or gently used vinyl floor.
