"burned in" image in tinted glass?
2 Attachment(s)
I recently bought a used Ranger, the previous owner had made some crude handmade diamond shaped decals on the rear glass, which said "88". I figured I could scrape it all off later, but to my dismay, the images seem to be burned into the glass, no solvent, so razor blade will remove it. I'm not sure I want to spend the bucks to replace the glass, thinking maybe painting over it? I put some stickers over it as a temporary fix.
Anyone got any ideas or am I facing replacement as my only option? Here's a couple pics of the problem |
I'm sure glass polish will get it out

:mischievo of course, I would never think of doing anything like that :surprised, but I didn't think of that, that explains the way there is no clear "edge" is if you know what I mean. Geez, who would glass etch a NASCAR number into their window glass? O, wait......... :sly: |
pffft especially jr haha

get a new rear glass... if you have any junkyards around you, you can find the ranger rear windows fairly cheap in my experience... 40-100 bucks..

that sucks, but at least rear glass is easy to replace, I got my slider for free, unbolted the stock solid glass, pushed it out, put the new one on and didnt even have to re-seal it or anything because the stuff that they use to seal it stays tacky. had it on 2 years and not a leak yet. took like 20 min.

haha, that was a good night. not exactly the best vehicle to learn to drive standard on tho...lol

I just replaced my rear glass. It cost me $270 installed. I am sure prices vary some.
