Carpeting Help

I made a platform for the back of my cab tonight. I was planning on picking up some carpeting from menards or lowes tomorrow. I used left over chip board from a construction project i was on.

What should i used to get the carpet to stick to the chip board. The surface of the chip[ board is pretty coarse, so I dont know if an arisol glue will work. will it?

Ill get some pics up tomorrow.

Its not for a system. I just want it to be level and have a place to set some stuff. I got a big wooden wine box and i threw my hitch, all my tie downs, and a bunch of other crap in there and it doesnt really fit back there because of the bumps and such. So i hobbled together a plat form. ill get pics and some dementions tomorrow.

I'm planning on making a platform that is the same height as the bump that the jump seat was bolted to. The jack, jack handle and the jack storage cover will be removed . I want to hinge the lid and store the jack etc under the platform. All this just to make more room for my dog Daisy, she goes everywhere with me. Let us know how well your carpet glues down.

She didn't want us to leave without her!

Mines just a sheet of chip board and some 2x4s cut for feet. I did this partly because I didnt have have that much scrap, and because from the lowest point to the top of the hump its only 4.5 inches. Theres really not that much space down there. Mines still low enough to access the 2 side cubbies.

oh you got the 4 door...hmmm...i dont know then...

ok as i promised here it is.

The dementions are 20"x51".
The peice I had was 3'x4' so I cut it down to 48"x20" and then used the scrap for the remaining 3 inches.

The feet in front are 3 3/8". The rear are 4 5/8". I made the mistake of not checking that it fit before I did the carpeting. Well it didnt fit and so I had to cut one of the legs short because it was sitting on the center hump. I wouldnt have had this problem if I made it out of one peice that was 52"x20".

I sprayed a litght layer of aresol glue on it then used staples to get the fabric tight and smooth.

Very nice. You should be able to get some cables and other small stuff under there to give you even more space. Looks good!
