CB Radio mounts

I want to mount a CB Radio in my 04'. I'm thinking I want to do an overhead mount possibly in combo with an OHC, basically find a small CB and cut/mount it in the space of the rear compartment on the OHC. Just want to know how everyone else has mounted their CB

Interesting way to mount the CB.
Not sure it will work, even with a Uniden 520, which is small and not too high and a great radio, would have a problem fitting and I do not believe there are many others.
Maybe make a new OHC, sized for the new CB but not too big.

I like my OHC but I am thinking on something new to house the front panel of my HAM VHF Radio and some switches. Some OHC have drop down compartments for radios or other equipment.

There are a lot of threads of this subject, just search and read through them, there a lot of idea and great installs.

I mounted mine to the side of my center console on the passenger side as far forward as possible.

Maybe you could build one, shape the sides for the switch panel and the area for a CB, maybe a shelf to slide in the CB then secure to the CB mounting holes.
Use seem aluminum for the bottom and actual switch panel.

Just thinking out l out here... I built one for my '88 Ranger Standard Cab.

Haha I suppose I'm not much help for mounts, mine just sits in the middle propped up on the seat. Course then again mine's big so that's about the only place it would go.

Are you going to install a big horn in it? 418 got down and gone.

I put an aftermarket head unit in my 01 and put the cb in the empty spot under the head unit. Of course I just have a little uniden cb but for as often as I use it, it works great. It's all in the antenna my friend.

This. Unless you get it tweaked and peaked, the max output is 4 watts. So it all depends on the antenna you use, of course with surroundings and interference in mind. I use a Wilson 2000 trucker antenna, but I know a lot that will swear by 4' Firestiks.
