Seat Track Swap

I did a search on this and didn't really find a good clear answer. I am going to swap out the seats in my truck. I have an extended cab and the seats I found are in a regular cab. I know the tracks are different. Can someone PLEASE tell me how this is done? Is it just 4 bolts and swap them? Do I have to pull the seat backs off? I did read something about the seat back adjustment? HELP!!

Exactly wrong. As you can see from this picture, the seat track is an assembly that houses the seat adjustments, supports the seat back (hence the adjustment), and bolts to the floor.

You'll need to remove the 4 bolts that mount the track to the seat bottom. Then you'll have to remove the metal L bar that runs along the back of the seat.

By examining the underside of the handle(s) on the adjustments, you can easily remove them from the pin that sticks through the seat track frame.

Let me know if you need any more accurate information.

I also have this set of extended cab seat tracks for sale, if you're interested. I bought extended cab seats for my standard cab and had to figure all of this out.

After that, you need to remove the torx bolts that are slightly under the seat-back cover. The seat will remove in two parts, the bottom and the back.
