Changing Gauge cluster with digital odometer

I was planning on doing the gauge mod by scrapin off the green paint and changing it to blue. I just want to make sure before doing this that a) I can still do it and b) it will change the color of the light behind the odometer. As the subject line said it is a digital odometer. The victim truck is a 2005 edge. white face gauges if that means anything. Any help would be much appreciated.

I should probably agree with leaving it alone but the green glow just doesn't match my blue head unit and blue glow from my amps. I did get a hint tonight that I can change the odometer color because the light fades perfectly with all of the other lights when you mess with the dimmer. I'm gonna get my hands on a used cluster and practice the painting technique and then i'm gonna be the guinea pig for the 04+ rangers...no one ever got anywhere without taking risks right? I'll make sure to take pics just in case it works.

Ok well I called Nu Image today just to see if they had a kit that would change the color and found out that the newer gauges are lit up with leds that are saudered in there and changing the color of them would include unsaudering the connections and redoing the connections so in conclusion if you have a newer ranger get used to the color cuz it aint changin' just thought i would pass that information along

if it's digital then it's an LCD display and you can't change the color, unless you flat out replace the display with one that has a blue LCD. the LCD is most likely just wired to your dimmer switch just like the other lights, but i don't think you'll be able to change the color.
