Cold Cathodes...

i used to have green LEDs in my interior to make it glow but i got rid of them and now i want to do something like that again...

so ive seen D's interior and i like how it looks with the cold cathodes... my only question is since these are designed for use on a computer, how hard is it to make them work with a 12v system like my trucks? just cut the wire at the pin connector and connect positive and ground?

this is the kit im looking at and im thinking of getting a sound activator so that it will flash with my music but dont know if that will effect the whole wiring process

Are they flexible? Cause if they arent, I'll probably break them-- haha.

i dont think theyre flexible, no

i bought the same kit, all i had to do was eliminate the plastic connector and i also cut the yellow wire...basically all you need is the red (power) and black (ground) wires

with the sound activator you do the same and it just plugs into the power converter supplied...all in all you plug in the sound thing to the converter and run the sound activator to power and ground.

were they the two tubes seperate or connected? like could i put one single tube under my driver side and one under my passenger side?

anyone know? in the photo it looks like theyre two seperate wires but i want to be sure so i dont only order one kit and get screwed over...

I have a blue kit in my puter. Theres about 8 inches of lead on each tube. They are in cased in acrylic to help protect them.

Yellow = 12v
black = Ground

If your worried about the high voltage when running add a 10 ohm resistor.

some other ideas

I have personally bought form Xoxide and svc. Both are good etailers.

well i got them installed today... mistakinly i thought the converter was the sound actuator and cut the plugs off one of the tubes but i spliced the two tubes together so im hoping it wont burn my truck down... but they look good

i dont like how the passenger side is out so far, you cant see it when your sitting in the seat which is good but that heater box was in the way so i couldnt hide it as much as i would have liked to
