When you get it let me know if you have too cut the surround peace that is around the key when you insert it. I want to say you have too but I tried searching and couldn't find the thread.

I'm swapping to the 5.0 Expo ECU (hopefully by the end of the summer). Your model year uses the same style PATS as it so who's gonna be the guinea pig and modify the new key with the correct chip?

Yes, you have to trim the ears off of the ignition switch cover. It pops off with a flat head screw driver.

I thought you had too. At one point I was going to get a Fusion key and couldn't remember if I didn't order one because I had to trim the ears or just forgot.

well hell WVCAT the truck maybe older; but knowing you; you seem to be building and chopping and cutting rangers all day long. why dont you just put in a newer motor/computer and that way you can have the pats sytem. or better yet i send you a newer motor from a newer ranger with the entire 4 engine harness. now thats the lick right their.

Don't sweat it, you aren't doing anything wrong, the video has been removed by 2001fordranger.

I'm finding it better to view some of these forum's as a BS session, if you learn something great, but don't depend on it. For example, this forum is supposed to be about power door lock/window/mirror conversion and ends up with pictures of fob's.

Too bad we can’t learn to share and not BS…
I was really looking forward to a complete swap up to power.
I hope to be doing something sooner than later and wanted to see what someone else did.
