It should be held in with 4 screws, thats how my 04 was. Yours is a little different though.

Is there little inserts in the bottom of the cupholders that could be hiding the screws?

The inserts if there, have a slot in each one, you can use a screwdriver to unlock them. Mine had a very thin black rubber pad in the bottom of the cupholder hiding them. Make sure its not underneath those pads.

If you have an auto trans, this is what the consoles base plate looks like. Remove the cup holder inserts and the rubber under them to get to it.

If manual trans, there's two screws that you should be able to see the holes while your driving. pull those screws(phillips), and pop off the shift boot at the base off it's clips. After that, you should be good to go.
