more paint

So about a month ago or so I painted my radio bezel. Yesterday I painte dmy door handle surrounds to match. Definetly completes the look and looks great.

It ended up getting too cold to finish everything yesterday afternoon, so I haven't wetsanded and cleared them yet. I'll do that later in the week when it warms up some more.

lookin good mikey. I'm guessing theres more paint comin too, lol. did you use a clear coat over top the paint, I had some chipping even after a good sanding and the use of adhesion promoter? Will likely be doing some repainting once thigs warm up around here.

It's Duplicolor Metalcast Red. It's an anodized candy paint.

I haven't cleared the door pieces yet, that will be later in the week. I didn't use any adhesion promoter, I just cleaned the plastic and sprayed the ground coat and colour coat.

Same paint I used when I did my tails.

I think it looks good man, I want to paint mine but I'm not sure what color would go with a green truck on the inside with tan interior. Green maybe? lol

You should paint the rest of the dash and doors black or something to make the red not stand out so much. Since there are two kinds of looks, idk it just looks off to me.

I'm done painting stuff inside. Yeah, the red is pretty bright, and the grey is so light. The red really stands out. Maybe if I'd use a darker red, like factory Toredor Red,it wouldn't stand out so much.

But I'm happy with it anyways. Makes my really dull and dreary interior a little livlier.

to paint that black vinyl armrest part by your handle, what kind of paint should be used, i just painted my drivers door, and without thinking sprayed the vinyl with the krylon fusion, but everything else was dried, and that part was still tacky.

I don't know what's with that. It's like a vinyl, so I don't see why it shouldn't cure properly. You aren't the only one that's had that problem.

Did you prime at all before painting? What kind of prep did you do outside of a thorough cleaning?

If you ever managed a decent spray can technique video on YouTube....

lmao, I cleaned it out 2 days ago. It's all good now. It gets neglected in the winter when its cold out. On the bright side, atleast it's never been smoked in and it doesn't stink.

Mike you're making it really hard for me to not paint my door handles now... I'm just worried about them chipping and looking a little too rice.

If you don't sand them and just clean 'em and spray the ground coat on you'll have no problems removing the paint with lacquer thinner and having scratched and scuffed plastic underneath if you don't like the paint.

I only expect the paint to wear off on the grab handle, but not on the surrounds since they rarely get touched.
