2001 ExST has V6~4.0L~SOHC engine; if 2000 Ranger has V6~4.0L~OHV engine,
then harness not likely compatible, but various Dash\Cluster parts may be.

Welcome to the forun

I assume you mean Instrument Cluster swap or is it the whole dash?

Cluster from 1996-2003 Ranger will be plug and play to 2000 Ranger
Explorer 1996-2001 will fit but may need some warning light wires swapped around, just 2 or 3 I think

If you are just wanting a tachometer or different color faces I would look for Ranger cluster so its plug and play

I want to smooth and paint my dash so I need a donor so I can keep the original. Will the explorer dash and dash harness match up possibly? I guess I can just swap wires with my original.

Bringing this thread back to the top…

I have an 03 B2300 XL standard cab. I got the opportunity to get power doors and dash from an 01 Ranger XLT extended cab. I know there will be some wiring differences but I don’t know what these 2 grey plugs go to as they aren’t on my truck’s dash. I’m thinking maybe for auto climate control but just not sure. Any help is greatly appreciated!
