i did herculiner in my buddy's s-10. it turned out really nice. it is a tad louder than with carpet, but not enough to where he regrets doing it. 2 afternoons, $100 for the herc. kit and supplies to get it done.

I started with my bed by using the roller but ended up using a brush because I was able to control it better. When I do the cab I will use a brush.

As for the sound I have been driving without carpet for over 3 months and the road noise is not all that bad when I have on the stockers. When the 33's TSL's are on the noise is loud but not any louder than usual. The one thing that I noticed is my feet get cold faster and the overall temp in the cab is colder. I plan on cutting my carpet into two large "mats". One for the front one for the back. Then when I am going to go wheeling I can just take out the "mats" and throw them in the garage.

For about$90 shipped I got a herculiner one gallon kit and an extra quart from amestrutemper.com or something like that. I forget the address. Did a quick search for some coupon codes and voila.

Havent figured that part out yet but I think I am just going to have to find a way to run all of them under the door trim.

i rolled it with the supplied roller. used the supplied brush for the tight spaces.

we got the kit at walmart for $75.....no rebates required.

the only wires we had to deal with in my buddy's truck were the ones that run to the airbag box that mounts under the driver's seat (he pulled his amps and stuff out a while back). now, this stuff may have been able to be rerouted behind the dash, but that is just not something i was willing to risk doing. just doesn't seem like something that should be messed with (for liability reasons).
i took some thin sheetmetal and cut out some cover panels for the cable. i cannot weld so i did the next best thing i could think of...used self-tapping screws.

those panels were removed and linered outside of the truck. and the area under them was also linered.

afterwards, the screwheads were painted black. you hardly notice its there. the edges were banged down so you don't have to worry about catching your feet on anything.

other stereo wiring could easily be routed under the door sill panels.
