dome light switch
hey guys i have a 2000 4x4 ranger xcab. that roll type switch for the dome light/cargo light, i think its broke, cause it dosnt go all the way up to make the dome light come on or the cargo lights. it wont even make that little click noise as if it were all the way up. any idea on where i can get one of these at, and its it the correct name for this part the dome/cargo light switch??

It's common for the interior dimmer (rheostat) switch to go bad. You can get a new one online for a lot less than from Ford. This is one of the few parts I won't buy used.
I used one from an Explorer Sport that will allow you to turn on the dome lamp by going all the way up and the cargo lamps by going all the way down. It's wired differently but it works great if you can figure out how to wire it up.

mine was doing that when i gout my truck.
i just pushed it up really hard and it started working, i had to turn it on and off a few times to get it to work normal, but its been fine for a few years now.
if you feel like taking the dash panel off, they are super easy to take apart and clean.
