driver's side back door not opening

It feels like the latch at the top of my driver's side back door on my supercab isn't releasing. Any suggestions?

Is it rusted? You could try PB blaster or WD40

ty for the suggestion...no rust spotted, but I'll try the WD40. Is it possible to take the panel off with the door shut?

I've never tried but I'm sure you can get the front part off enough to see the latch

a friend of mines was seized. had to pull on it with entire body weight really fast. you might go flying back once it opens but it works lol

wd40 mainly just lubricates and doesn't remove weaken rust. use PB blaster

something must be bent or broken, that latch is just refusing to be let go
