Was checking out some nice1997 Ford Explorer electric seats for my 1995 Ford Ranger.

First off, will those bolt right in to my ranger?

Also wanted to check out some information that someone told me that if there were two different keys to the Explorer, then each key could possibly have a different setting for the driver's seat??
For example: The husband's key might adjust differently than the wife's key??

Does that information sound correct, and how hard would it be to wire electric seats up, or can they be converted to manual adjustment, which is what I would prefer, but not sure how a electric seat works with adjusting the back rest?

 

Why would you go to the trouble of putting in electric seats if you want manual adjustment?

 

Is it possible to swap the tracks from the manual Ranger, to electric Explorer seats?

 

So many questions for someone that want to do this DIY !

First off I replied to a similar question just a couple of minutes ago, do a search on the subject.
But while I am here, we need more info on your truck.

AND, the Explorer Seats fit the newer Ranger because the Cab Size increased.
IMHO... the Powered Explorer Seat are too big for a Std Cab, they fit the Ext Cabs because of the extra room. In the Std Cab the space between the steering wheel and the seat is too small. I am 6'2", 200 lbs. and I found these seat too big and actually uncomfortable for my '03 Std Cab, EDGE.
Note: The '03 Std Cab, is by fr larger than the '95 Std Cab.

I do not know the actual mounting method used on the Explores for their Seat Tracks, but my '03 Seat Tracks bolted on and it made Seat conversion from a 60/40 setup to a 40/40 setup very easy. I think the Explorer Tracks are welded on BUT you need to check it out !

You need to find out what your truck has for Track Mounting, then find out what the Explorer has, do your homework.
