Center Console Mod Questions

Center Console Mod Questions
I have a few questions that I was unable to find answers to using the search feature.
I suppose I should start by telling you what kind of Ranger I drive. It is a 1996 XLT 4.0L V6 2wd.
My first question...Is it possible for me to put a center console from an explorer in my truck? I would like to do the bucket seat mod and then install an explorer console inbetween the two bucket seats. I know that the center console mod can be done to rangers, I'm just not sure if having a 2wd makes any difference. Any ideas? The following picture shows my current center console, even though it is difficult to tell.
Second, I do not have a passenger-side airbag and instead of having switch to turn a passenger airbag on/off I have a cigarette lighter-type electrical outlet(I can't think of the technical name for it at the moment). Would it be possible for me to rewire and install this somewhere in the center console? Picture below.
Thanks in advance for any help! If more pictures are needed, please let me know.
