Explorer Seat Question

First off, I have a regular cab and after doing a little searching from what I've read power seats do not fit in a regular cab. Is that right? I have found 2 brand new, never used limited edition explorer seats for 250$. The guy said they are from a mid to late 90s explorer, he bought them for a project that he was going to do but never used the seats, never installed, never sat on. Will these fit in my 98 Regular Cab Ranger XLT???

If they don't, I'll give him $250 for em lol

I honestly think the power seats won't fit in a regular cab but can't remember for sure. I think the mounts themselves are too long.

Those look pretty light. Are they light grey?

how are they mid 90's seats and never been used? they look used to me from the pics or just really dirty.

are you wondering if the tracking will line up or the power options will plug in? track should be the same, if not its not too tough to get some mounts fabbed.

couldnt answer the power question though

This is what he said when I emailed him asking him about the seats and a few questions on them:

"I do not know the exact year of the seats but will guess that they are mid to late 90's they have never been installed in a vehicle ever. I was supplied with them for a project truck and we didn't us them.

the seats do have limited embroidered in them and are both power seats

they both have power up and down, front and back, and tilt
plus power lumbar support

they also have a computer memory but I have never hooked any of this up

As for 2 or 4 door I will have to say 4 door as you can see in the picture that is as far as the seat tilts forward and there does not appear to be any release for woving the seat but I may be wrong

the truck that I made went with recaro racing seats instead and I was able to keep these seats and have had them I storage ever since. I didn't even let people sit in them in the shop"

I don't care really about the power, just if they will bolt in right.

if you're not worried about the power, then they should bolt in right. There's a lot of people on here who have done it....give it a little time to see what everyone else says. I don't see why they wouldn't bolt up either.

if it's 250 shipped than do it, you can easily make that back up selling them if they dont fit

So you are saying that these will definately bolt right into my Ranger? How hard would it actually be to get the wiring to work out, or is that not even possible?

There's actually a guy on here that installed the limited seats with the memory and I think he said the wiring just for that function alone is a PITA. That's a really good deal if they are brand new.

So these will definately bolt in to my reg cab 98 ranger? I'll worry about the wiring later, just want to make sure that these will fit as I don't want to lose this deal or buy them and have them not fit.

Nobody knows if these will go in smoothly?? I am going to buy them, but I would still like to know what I'm getting myself into before I attempt an install.

Well, I bought the seats today. I still have no idea if they will fit or not. I found them on craigslist and the guy just happened to be close by to a friend of mine. So I had him go and check them out/buy them. He said they are brand new, still has the plastic on the side of the seats. I won't be able to go pick them up until Wednesday or Thursday...I just hope to god these things fit, or at least I am able to make them fit. My friend said they are really nice and comfortable so I'm hoping for the best.

Can't believe nobody knows for sure whether these will fit or not...

https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...+seats+reg+cab.. looks like you're gonna have to either modify the tracks or use your ranger seat tracks..

Yeah, I saw that post before. What gets me though is that I also find other posts where people say that you can get explorer seats into reg cab rangers. Quote from a post on RPS "All the explorer seats will fit in a regular cab. The only concern is if you get them out of a 4door explorer they don't fold forward. Find some out of a 2door Xploder and you'll be able to keep the folding forward option." That's where I get confused. Why do some people say they will fit and some don't.

From everything I've read, I'm thinking the explorer seats bolt in fine unless they are power. Then they don't line up right, so you have to switch the tracks with the ranger ones. I don't really mind not having power, but I read somewhere that you can still use the lumbar? I just hope this all works out good in the end. As for folding forward, that's not that big of a deal either. The one pictures shows how far forward they go and thats enough for me as I don't got anything behind me to get at as it is.
