Icon8 Replaced Gauge Cluster, new tach not working properly

Replaced the non-tach cluster in my '94 Splash with the cluster from a '94 Explorer, the swap went smoothly, however the tach appears to be indicating half the real RPM. At idle the tach registers approximately 425 RPM and only 1000 rpm at 45 mph in fourth gear.

The replacement cluster came from a 4.0L Explorer and was not marked in any way to indicate it was a "4.0L Only" cluster.

Any words of wisdom?

Just double check and make sure everything is attached properly. Check all the pins and stuff like that make sure none are bent or missing. Other then that I have no idea
