I'd be willing to let a few squeks, rattles, and such go. Afterall this is a farkin' pickup truck, not a luxury automobile! But you're right, they definitely seem to have skipped a few steps in the QC department on these trucks.

Some of this fairly simple design issues too. The armrest is a great example. Whoever designed that is an idiot! Just look at the thing and you can instantly see how it's going to break over time. Why the compartment underneath it couldn't be extended up a few more inches, making the armrest double as the compartment door/lid is beyond me. Doing so would (in this man's opinion) remove the stress from the hinge that broke and make the item a lot more durable. It's also a hastle to have to lift the arm-rest AND open the compartment lid to get at it. The only thing I can think of is that the whole console is a parts bin item that was retrofited from another vehicle..

Wow.. This is an oldie but goodie eh?!

No worries. I've since had the issue settled. Basically I threw a nutty at the service manager by telephone a day or so after I got the truck back. I still have no clue what the hell they did, if they tried to slip a used part past me, or if they just boogered it up that much putting it in. Either way I told them I didn't think they were capable of such repairs and I expected them to order me a part and I would install it myself. Interior stuff isn't that bad, I really think any idiot w/ a screwdriver can do it. .. Well, maybe not any idiot!

So that's exactly what happened. I picked up the new part, installed it, and dropped the other, used one off. I'm now done w/ that dealer. At least until I find someone worse!

So buyer beware! Autofair Ford of Manchester, NH is a bunch of stooges when it comes to repairing/replacing interior parts! They may be cheap to buy from, but they suck as service types! ... Scary thing is I've heard nasty things about my only other option too: Best Ford here in Nashua! Oh well, how much worse can things really get?! Eh?

Maybe I should go see the Toyota guy and see if he can bail me out..
