full length center console with a manual tcase and tranny
as the title says any one done it? if so even if you have a full length and manual can i see pics plz thanks alot guys

Bob (rwenzing) has one. You have to custom mold the console though for the tcase shifter. He doesn't have the manual tranny but he has the t-case.

I honestly can't think of anyone with a manual trans AND a manual tcase w/ the Explorer full length.
Here's TrePaul86's old truck... Attachment 185945 Attachment 185946 Attachment 185947 |
thanks man your was the first i ever saw and was hoping you would post more pics of it
|
i had one with a manual tranny, if you body lift, dont do it
|
Will these match up with the 94 style dash? I think it would even be cool just to have the part around the shifter with cup holders and have it meet with the 60\40 seats.
|
Here is my console...it's an automatic tho. I wrapped the lid with leather.

yeah it should work i don't see why it wouldn't

STOCK shifter with just a 1" bl wouldnt work in an expo console...i've tried.
|
Oh, well I don't have that set-up. He said just BL so I assumed he was talking about a 3 inch BL since that is what most people have. But, you know what they say when you assume....

hey thanks man thats what i wanted to see i got my manual tcase into day so i now have twin sticks
|
A ranger manual case won't work with a full length console. You have to remember Bob is using a bigger transfer case to go with his 5.0L. The transfer case he's using is offset a lot more than the ranger's case is so he has room to fit it next to the console. You won't have that kind of room with the ranger's case.

3" bl w/ the PA shift extention w/ stock arm...the 'shift throws' are so long, that you'd be probably hitting the console in 2nd, 4th, and reverse. The amount of travel the shifter has is the issue. Now...a Hurst shifter with an extention between the arm and the pivot...should work just fine. I've been meaning to try this out for a while now. |
I had a 3" BL, a shifter extension, and a full length console and it wasn't good. I hit in 2nd 4th and reverse. I had to bend the shifter extension forward to get it to clear, but then the shifter nearly missed the radio bezel. Overall it wasn't a good setup, but with no shifter extension, and no BL, it was acceptable.
|
Ok. Toreador, didn't you put that other kind of console in? How is that going for ya?
|
ok thanks guys so much i was looking at where my shifters come threw the floor and realized theres no way i can it will work so that sucks but o well it was a good thought but at least i have my manual tcase in my truck pics will be up monday or so

Much better. If you have a manual trans dont get the side by side cup holders, get the one in front of the other, i had both, these are alot easier to use without the shifter in the way
Attachment 185819 they work good with this new shifter i got too :) Attachment 185820 |
