put a second foglight switch in the defroster hole and then put some lights up front.

yeah, the switches will be fine because the KC's run off a relay...so all the switch is gonna see is the 12vDC from the battery

Yeah run a relay on any lights. Even 55w lights should be switched with a relay.

i have a hole that i cut in mine for the extra switch....whenever it gets a little warmer out side, i am going to finish my Explorer bezel with the 3 gauges in were the air vents are........

my 2nd fog switch controlls all my blue lights for the fire department......all you need is a 30 amp relay SPST and it is all good....

There most likely aren't any wires forward of the relay box under the hood for the foglights but some do have it even if they weren't factory equipped with fogs. Mine didn't however. Remember that the foglight switch actually switches the ground and not the 12V power so it has to be wired slightly differently to a relay. Rwenzing on here has a nice schematic on how to do it and thats what I used to add factory fogs to my truck. I used a 40amp Ford Ranger Blower Motor relay on my setup because they are supposed to be more reliable than the auto parts store ones.
