OHC wiring problems

I know there are a lot of threads on the OHC already but I couldn't find the answer to my question. I installed my OHC last night, well actually I got done at like 3 am this morning. When I plug the OHC in the map light is on, but nothing else is. When I close my door the light stays on. I had to disconnects the OHC so the light wouldn't drain my battery. Did I not connect the wires correctly? I figure it's the wires that connect behind my stereo so I will check those later and make sure they are making a connection. I followed the walk-through here, http://www.cardomain.com/ride/296394/4 , and did exactly what is posted. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for the help! I think this is my first post on here.

Wire colors change from year to year, I used this as a guide and figured out what I needed to do.

I figured out part of it. I had both the wires that went to the dome light connected to the same wire. I moved the black/blue one to the black/blue wire on the dome light and it all worked perfect. I didn't test the dimer though, but I will do that tomorrow.

Thanks for the diagram. Now I just need to find that bit about what area I am so I can sync the navigation part.

The OHC is mounted and running perfectly. It's such a great mod! I am enjoying the directional and the tempurature so much. Thanks all for the idea and help.

I love it. I think Ford should sell the Ranger with the OHC installed already. But then I guess they wouldn't be so cool if everybody had one.

This is what I followed:
1. Black (BK) - ground

2A. Yellow/Gray (YE/GY) - console electronics power
2B. Blue/Red (BL/RD) - console display dimmer input

3A. Green/Orange(GN/OR) - Map light power
3B. Black/Blue(BK/BL) - Dome light power

4A. Lt. Blue/White (BL/WH) - Temp sensor
4B. Lt. Blue/Yellow (BL/YE) - Temp sensor

5. Gray/Black (GY/BK) - speed sensor (not used by some, but necessary)

You can find more here, http://www.cardomain.com/ride/296394/3 , go to page two for more info also.

The red black on pin 8 should be tied into light blue/red on your truck.

To verify, don't hook it up. If the light does not dim when you turn on the head lights. Its the dimmer input.

Thats the one i tapped. Im not really sure if it is the right one. My OHC doesn't update very fast regardless of speed.
