Interior Customizing Project..

Well, I've started on the long road to making my ride's interior custom. I already painted the speaker covers behind my seat, while I was back there I also decided to just take the seats out and put in 2 bucket seats. So right now I'm running with only one seat until I get my another bucket. So the next order of business is to get some color in the door panel. So to start everything off right, I decided to go smooth on the door and paint em red. Here are some pics: Name: 100_0181.jpg

so when you sanded, did you sand it smooth? cause no offense, i tried it myself, those panels look like crap after some sanding if the texture is still there

Yea I sanded it smooth to begin with and I am wet sanding in between the coats just to make sure I get all the imperfections that the paint shows.

the area under the lower tape is tan carpeted, right? and the area under the upper tape is vinyl wrapped? what are your plans for those areas?

Yes and Yes. I'm still debating on what to do to those areas. I think it would look pretty cool to leave them the same color because it would give it a little bit of contrast from bright red to reserved beige.

I sanded mine smooth and put a heavy coat of sandable primer on it. I have a place that can mix me up sonic blue paint in a can...but I really would like to do flames as I really like flames on the interior.

O yeah, good work on the project lol

that turned out well! you should see if its possible to paint the blck parts tan, it would look alot cleaner/more simple.

Ya know...I thought about that, and then I talked with my dad and he said that he thought it would look better leaving it black because it would break up the redness and give it more of a contrast.

That looks awesome! I say leave it just the way it is. It matches the outside perfectly!

yeah it looks good like how it is now. i was just thinkin the red with the tan reminded me of a hot rod or somethin like that, figured everything tan and red would look good. keeping the black looks good too, so good choice either way!
