P R N D 3 L

On my 5spd manual Level 2 where the gear indicator should be if it had been an automatic(below the speedometer) there is a blank(small plug that fills in the hole). I was wondering if anyone else out there with 5spd manual Level 2's or a similar set up(digital odo + 5spd manual) has figured out a mod for that spot. Shift lights perhaps? Analog VU meter for their stereo? I remember someone mentioning a digital voltage meter, but I think that was on a Sport Trac cluster.

Any other ideas?

Cheers,
D.

I just picked up my 09 Ranger 5 Speed Manual and that empty space under the speedometer is absolutely killing me! Does anyone have pictures of what's behind it, how much room is there, and how to disassemble the cluster? I usually like to explore those kind of things myself but that's one I'll postpone until I have a few more miles on the truck before I do that uninformed.

Blank . . .
Empty . . .
Space . . . . .

Arrrgh!

I'm doing a neat little mod....that no one else has. And it does involve FX4 and doesn't involve stickers...

You could get a led or lcd screen that fit back there and make it light up to how many rpms there are and possible whatever else you wanted. But I think a little led screen would fit great.

If I remember correctly there's about an inch of room behind it.

Good idea. You could make a gradual shift light with LED's or something like that.

Have it like a scale. Starts at green, and when your RPM's increase, it moves to yellow, then to red.

who cares...that just means someone used the search function, which is a good thing. Plus, it's a neat little thread. Nobody talks about this sorta little thing.

The thing where the indicator would be on an auto doesn't bother me one bit. I'm just gonna mod mine to make it was unique. And to the one that said mod a scangauge there.....umm hell no that ain't gonna happen. Do you know the sizes of both the scangauge and that 'blank' spot? lol.

ABUSE OF POWER!!! ABUSE OF POWER!!!

this clearly shows shane abusing power. i don't think he should be a mod given his relationship and possible siding toward them.....

Oooo wait wait! I know I know!!!!!

A FAN! Put a fan behind there.. cut out the plastic and make a vent.. then when you drive faster - it blows harder.. so you can like.. make it feel like your driving without a window..!

Am I close? Yeah.. i thought so, I hit it the nail on the head with a HAMMER!
