Painted my Radio Bezel

But I can't seem to get the water drops off of it. I was planning on going silver but I decided to add some colour and go Kandy Kobalt Blue. Let me know what you think.

looks good!

i would assume that you sprayed water on it before you sprayed the paint correct then let the paint dry, then wipe the water off, and then clear?

is that how you do it? lol
i may need to go do it, that doesn't show the scratches where you didn't sand it fine enough as well as the red i have does...

thats badass

that looks good, i painted mine a dark flat blue two days ago, looks good, and painted the console cupholder below it.

did you have any issue witht he coating that was on it? soon as i hit it with paint it shrivelled up so i spent an hour peeling it off with paint thinner, then painted it.

theres like a rubberish coating you need to sand off, unless theres another way to get it off..

i used lighter fluid to get the rubber coating off, no sanding envolved

The way I did the waterdroplets was I started with a silver base. I then use a spray bottle and spray water on it to form the droplets. I then used my aibrush to add the highlights and shadows. I spray white going in one direction at a low psi and then black on the other side. The water holds the paint and acts like a mask. I then use a heat gun to let the water evaporate and then lay some kandy blue over top that. It a simple technique that I picked up from airbrushing. It does cover up scratches dips, etc to make them less noticable.

I removed the rubber coating that was on the bezel before I painted it. I found nail polish remover worked good to lift it without harming the plastic. It was a pain in the *** though. Lots of sanding.
