i deal with stuff like that all the time. take it to an upholstery shop and have them pull the cover/foam and try to find it that way.

Mine doesn't actually rattle but you can see it bouncing/shimmying around. All bolts look tight on the mounts. I just assumed it was a tire that is out of balance..

So this is actually a problem that's common to most Rangers???

If I put pressure on the back of mine while driving it will go away. Mine isn’t bad but I got a new noise and traced it to the seat.

That is easy to do yourself, with a little time.
Upholstery sort of rolls off inside out and goes back on the same way.
There is a plastic clip on the bottom of the back and the sides of the bottom seat.
Took mine apart to put in Heaters and was surprised to see how simple it was.
I will have to go over the seat bolts and see if something is loose.

Good Fix, LoL… but the wife would have a problem with it; I guess she could sit in the back with the Cat/Dog.

Not sure how many people have this problem but I got it with the replacment Bucket seats, didn’t have it with the 60/40 setup.

that works til you run into a type of fastener that the average joe wouldn't have. rangers don't really have anything other than velcro, but others do.

Your right… on a 2003 using 2002 Lvl II Seats the Upholstery sort of rolls off and only clips on the lower portion of each of the seats.

The seats I had rolled off enough to put the heaters in place and that was all that I needed so I didn’t go any further.
In turn the Upholstery rolled back on with a little tugging to make sure the fit was right.

If the Upholstery clips on the lower part of the seats then it should be the only thing in the way.

Ford still has some of the Upholstery left for the Ranger Seats, if anyone wanted the OEM looks along with the cost buying from Ford is something to consider.
